Personal matters
You should be reasonably fit and healthy. Please don't be discouraged by age, or not having a high level of fitness, as we won't be working you like packhorses!
On some days we will be travelling long distances, so if you get uncomfortable because of an issue you have, these tours may not be for you.
Health
You need to be responsible for your own health & safety. If you have any existing medical conditions (e.g. past or current heart or respiratory issues, diabetes, etc), it is essential that you advise us. Bring all your own medications, tablets, lotions, creams, spare prescriptions, etc. Be aware that we cannot dispense medication.
We do have Remote Area First Aid training, and a first aid kit.
Hygiene
To help keep germs at bay, we provide antibiotic hand wash pump packs in each vehicle and in camp.
An easy way to stay clean is to wash in a very small amount of water in the evenings. It is for this reason that we advise you to carry a small container which we can fill with hot water for you. As we will be travelling in the dry arid lands, it is neither possible or necessary to shower every day. However, it may be possible to shower or swim every few days.
Toileting is simple - just walk away, into a private bit of bush, with a shovel and dig a hole. Afterwards, burn all toilet paper to avoid environmental contamination, as well as to avoid general un-sightliness. Then bury.
